Van has over eight years of experience creating technologies aimed at fostering a sustainable aquaculture ecosystem. He is the co-founder and CEO of OTANICS, which operates the Tomota digital platform, catering to every participant in the global shrimp value chain. Within two years of launching, Tomota products have been adopted by thousands of users across more than 1,500 farms and 420 hatcheries in33 countries. In addition, Van is the founder of Ofarm, a company that develops and tests various shrimp farming procedures, including cost-effective recirculation aquaculture systems (RAS) and integrated multitrophic aquaculture (IMTA) systems. He also leads the NTT Hi-Tech Institute, focusing on high-tech applications in various industries. For the shrimp industry, this institute supports rigorous disease testing and surveillance, as well as the development of probiotics and other bioproducts. His mission is to drive positive change through innovation and collaboration in the environmental, social, and economic realms.
