VIP Event: Hope in the Water

Scope /

This year, we are excited to bring back our VIP event—an exclusive gathering to express our deep appreciation to the sponsors who make the Global Shrimp Forum possible. Your support enables us to deliver a world-class event, and this evening is dedicated to you.

The VIP event offers a unique opportunity for our sponsors to connect with each other, with our speakers, and with other special guests in an intimate and relaxed setting.

This year’s edition will feature a special screening of the shrimp-focused episode from Hope in the Water—an Emmy-nominated documentary series that explores how innovative “blue food” solutions can feed the world while restoring our oceans and inland waters. The series follows the journeys of inspiring water farmers, fishers, and activists, and features prominent voices including Shailene Woodley, Martha Stewart, Baratunde Thurston, and José Andrés. Hope in the Water is produced by thirteen-time Emmy winner David E. Kelley and four-time James Beard and Emmy Award winner Andrew Zimmern.

Following the screening, Katherine Bryar will host a conversation with Jennifer Bushman, founder of Hope in the Water, and Dr. Loc Tran, a pioneering shrimp farmer from Vietnam featured in the series.

To close the evening, we invite all guests to enjoy drinks, desserts, and a tasting of shrimp from Dr. Loc Tran’s farm—an opportunity to experience first-hand the innovation and sustainability showcased in the documentary.
