Inclusive Supply Chains and Continuous Improvement

An Indian farmer with shrimp feed
Scope /

Following the success of previous editions, this year’s Inclusive Supply Chain session, sponsored by ASC with support from the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership, returns to one of the shrimp industry’s central challenges: how to better integrate, support, and empower small and independent farmers.

In this interactive session, we will hear directly from regional organizations presenting innovative models designed to strengthen economic, social, and environmental sustainability for smallholder farmers in India, Ghana, and SE Asia.

The session will begin with a series of short pitches from three organizations. Participants will then break into discussion groups to examine the potential of these models and explore key questions, including:

  • How can these approaches create shared value across the supply chain?
  • What financial tools could support improvement for independent farmers?
  • Are there market mechanisms that could reward higher farm performance?
  • Can these models scale across countries or production systems?

Each group will then refine the ideas and present a final pitch highlighting why a particular model deserves broader support—based on its potential to reach large numbers of farmers or deliver meaningful environmental and social impact.

A panel of expert judges will select the winning concept.

Through this collaborative format, the session aims to transform ambition into collective action—identifying practical models that the industry can test, refine, and scale to build more inclusive shrimp supply chains.
