Mr. Tran Dinh Luan is the Director General of the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance (DFiS), Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Viet Nam. He holds a PhD in Aquaculture and has more than 20 years of experience in fisheries management and policy.
Since his appointment as Director General in 2019, Mr. Luan has led the development and implementation of national policies on aquaculture, capture fisheries, fisheries surveillance, aquatic resource management, biodiversity conservation, and environmental protection in the fisheries sector. He has played a key role in advancing the sustainable development of Viet Nam's fisheries and strengthening international cooperation to promote responsible and resilient fisheries.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Luan served as Deputy Director General of the Directorate of Fisheries (2016–2019). He also held senior leadership positions at both national and provincial levels, including Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Soc Trang Province, where he was responsible for fisheries.
