Olivier Hottlet is since 1991 managing director (together with his brother Benoît) of HFF / Hottlet Frozen Foods N.V. – a company importing frozen seafood and distributing it all over Europe, created in 1970 by their father Pierre Hottlet, a pioneer in the international trade in these type of products. HFF has it’s offices and own coldstorage in Kontich, conveniently located near the port of Antwerp.

After graduating with a Master of Applied Economics (with a major in International Trade) at the University of Saint Ignatius in Antwerp, Olivier joined the family business in 1982 and has therefore a full carreer of 40 years of experience in frozen seafood trade, more particularly in the field of sourcing and quality control.

He is also since many years very active in a number of professional associations, be it on national level (president of BELGAFOOD – the Belgian Food Products Importers’ Association), on European level (president of FRUCOM – the European Federation of the Trade in Dried Fruit, Edible Nuts, Processed Fruit and Vegetables and Processed Fishery Products – of which Belgafood is a member) or even international level (secretary and treasurer of SIPA – the Seafood Processors’ and Importers’ Alliance – and -  director at large of IAFI – the International Association of Fish Inspectors).

He was born in Mortsel (Belgium) 65 years ago.
