Lola Reverchon-Billot began her career with research and fieldwork focused on wild fauna before shifting her attention to the welfare of farmed animals. In order to deepen her understanding of the technical dimensions of livestock production and to better support farmers, she pursued additional studies beyond her master’s degree in animal behavior, obtaining a diploma as an advanced technician in animal production.
In 2020, she joined Bankiva, an independent consultancy specializing in farmed animal welfare. Her work now includes a focus on shrimp behavior and welfare, among other subjects. Her objective is to advance understanding of shrimp behavior and to contribute to improvements in farming and slaughter practices.
To this end, she conducted an extensive review of the scientific literature to identify key welfare challenges in shrimp production. She also carried out fieldwork in Central America, engaging with producers to discuss farming practices, gather data, and provide training in data collection for research purposes.
