Meaningful progress on human rights in shrimp and seafood supply chains requires greater collaboration and a deeper understanding of workers' realities. But with so many initiatives, certifications and programmes available, where should the industry begin?
To help the industry navigate these resources and accelerate progress, the Global Shrimp Forum Foundation has developed Human Rights Initiatives, a resource kit bringing together a wide range of certifications, initiatives, programmes and other tools supporting human rights across shrimp and seafood supply chains.
Designed as a one-stop shop for industry stakeholders, the resource kit aims to encourage greater collaboration, knowledge sharing and collective action, helping the industry build on existing efforts and translate commitments into meaningful improvements for workers.
The resource kit was developed in connection with the Responsible Sourcing Summit at the Global Shrimp Forum 2026, where discussions reinforced the importance of working together and better understanding workers' experiences to deliver meaningful, lasting change.
